St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum

The St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum offers an immersive journey into the Golden Age of Piracy, showcasing the world's largest collection of authentic pirate artifacts. Located at 12 South Castillo Drive, directly across from the Castillo de San Marcos, the museum features over 800 artifacts, including Captain Thomas Tew’s 17th-century treasure chest—the only known authentic pirate treasure chest—and one of only three surviving original Jolly Roger flags. Interactive exhibits allow visitors to experience life as a pirate: hoist a Jolly Roger, tie nautical knots, fire a cannon, and explore a recreated pirate ship deck. A highlight is the Below Deck audio experience, designed by Disney Imagineers, simulating the sounds of Blackbeard’s final battle. The museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., offering a captivating experience for history enthusiasts and families alike.
